Family!

This past weekend, I finally had some family come and visit! Rachel, and her husband Sam came out from Atlanta and spent the weekend with me! They came in late Friday, so we just sat around and talked until we were all really tired. Saturday we got up and walked around Boulder (just to see what it was like - University of Colorado is located in Boulder). Sam, the outdoorsman he is, wanted to go on a fun little hike. So, I took then back to Red Rocks (Rachel liked my pictures of it, so why not?)
It was really nice to see the changing leaves! It was beautiful!

Saturday after our hike, we drove by downtown and around my neighborhood (pictures will come soon I promise). Then we went to Northfield mall, which is about 3 miles from my house. Sam wanted to check out the massive Bass Pro Shop and then get good Sweet Tea from Jim-N-Nicks! My neighbors, Kat and Kenny joined us for dinner and then drinks after at the local sports bar. We all had a great time! And I was super sad to see them leave, but of course their time came to return to the real world...

until next time...

Silver Lake Hike

Last weekend, my friend Anna took me on a hike on up in the mountains (I don't actually know where we were exactly, but it took about an hour and a half of a car ride up in the mountains to finally get to Pike's National Forest.)
There were so many tourist around the national forest roadways taking pictures of the changing Aspen trees (the yellow tops!) They were absolutely beautiful, as you can tell :)
Small streams were all around us on the hike.

As we hiked on up, (at around 12,500 ft) it started to snow! This is actually Silver Lake, at the foot of another peak. Yeah for Scout and Momie!

The more it snowed, the colder it got and the more Scout wanted to go HOME!! (I actually ended up having to put his cute little sweater on to keep him warm.)

It was alot of fun! We ended up hiking somewhere around 6 miles total. We had such a good time, but I must say, it got cold! And snowed on us the entire way back.

Until next time...
